What exactly is screenprinting?
Screen printing, also referred to as serigraphy, is a printing process that utilizes stencils to transfer a design onto textiles. A specialized paint is applied to a porous silk or nylon screen where it penetrates the portions of the screen not blocked by the stencil. In order to create a multicolor or complex design several stencils and a number of colors may be employed in a single print. More versatile than traditional printing techniques, screen printing does not require pressurized printing or a planar surface. Screen printing inks can be used to work with a variety of materials, such as textiles, ceramics, metal, wood, paper, glass, and plastic. As a result, screen printing is used in many different industries, from clothing to product labels to circuit board printing.
